Paintings

Jean-Marc Philippe painted for more than twenty years: from the figurative pastels of his beginnings to the lyrical abstraction of the late 1960s, then the large acrylic canvases of the Protest Paintings (1971 – 1980), born of his discovery of American Abstract Expressionism and New York graffiti. From 1978 to 1986 he returned to figuration with the White Work: the “Gazes”, the “Smiles” and the “Snapshots”.
